To us, your initial assessment is more than just a ‘Check Up’. It’s an opportunity to focus on prevention and help identify any potential problems at the earliest stages and, ideally, stop them from even occurring.
By taking the time to do a thorough clinical assessment, we can put your mind at ease about your oral health and create a personalised treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs, potentially avoiding expensive treatments in the future.
We ask that you show up for your first appointment about 10 minutes early. This gives you plenty of time to complete our comprehensive medical history form and ‘healthy smile’ questionnaire.
You will then meet with one of our friendly clinicians who will spend time getting to know you and discussing your individual needs and expectations.
During your assessment we will perform the following:
A thorough inspection of your teeth and soft tissues
A Periodontal (Gum) health evaluation
An Oral Cancer Screening
A Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) exam
An assessment of your Occlusion (bite)
At William Street Dental we strongly believe that by taking the time to perform a thorough assessment we create a pleasant and informed patient experience in a friendly environment where you can freely discuss any concerns you may have.
Sometimes we may also perform radiographs to check the internal structure of your teeth and surrounding tissues as well as take a few clinical photographs to help plan your treatment.
Finally, we will provide a written Oral Health Report to give you a clear understanding of your personal oral health.
